As the temperatures dropped the progress continued. It was getting quite chilly in the evenings and we looked forward to a source of heat. On October 5 we prepped for spray foam and on the 6th we had the Foam Guys spray the walls. On the 8th our septic tank was delivered and we installed the septic system with the help of Josh's dad, Bryan. On the 9th we dug the ditch from the original well to the chicken coop/garden and put in a yard hydrant. This was a huge step as we had been hauling water by buckets every day from the shop still! On the 14th we celebrated Ben's 13th birthday with whip cream shots and a fancy dog food dinner. On the 15th we fiberglass insulated three main floor walls and the ceiling. The ceiling was spray foamed as well but we had to put fiberglass insulation over the top for to meet code. On the 18th we popped the waterline through the basement wall and into the house; we only got a little wet! On October 23 Josh and Bryan installed the tin roof, facia and soffit. We made it a point to take some time to get in the woods and do some hunting. A typical day consisted of waking up, Sam working at the shop, Josh for Altec, working on the house, relaxing with an evening cocktail, cooking dinner at the shop, showering and washing up then going down to the house to sleep. Needless to say we were burning the candle at both ends.
