We took a little time to catch our breath from the very busy past few months to do some hunting and spend time with family. We had high hopes of getting a deer from our property. Sam took a full day to hunt on the 7th and saw a lot of rut activity. When we weren't in the woods we were working our tails off. Sam was getting caught up after being behind with deer mounts due to the crazy schedule we have had. Sam's parents came up to see our progress and were very surprised! The taxidermy business continued to grow and deer were being dropped off almost daily, if not multiples a day. It was cold, but the dogs kept us warm in the evenings. Josh wired up the house and we were able to run an electric heater in the bedroom when temperatures really started dropping. We were getting desperate after not seeing any nice bucks so Sam joked and said she was going mushroom hunting instead (Photo of mushrooms in scope). November 21 was an exciting day. The last of our household appliances were moved out of the shop and into the house. Josh built a makeshift kitchen in the basement. We moved in the old original camp stove however, due to it being in storage the oven no longer worked. We made the best of it making dinners in the ninja foodie and on the stove burners. We spent thanksgiving visiting Sam's parents then Josh's parents and eating lots of turkey and fixings! On the 27th Sam and Josh both were hunting. We got a small amount of snow and decided to track. Immediately we found a good sized buck track but couldn't seem to catch up to him. Sam had to leave early to go to her sisters 50th birthday party. As Sam was walking out of the woods Josh spotted the biggest Adirondack buck he has ever seen but unfortunately after tracking couldn't get a shot before it crossed to the neighbors. The saga of huge Adirondack bucks will continue for years to come...
