What have we been up to? Making homemade sourdough pancakes and kombucha. Caught little black nose dace and brown trout from our creek. Beretta has been on bear duty and continues to be our protector. Ben is enjoying the senior life, swimming in the creek and long naps. Colt had grandpa make him an awesome crate for all those scary moments he faces! Josh has been busy on the crawler loader and tractor. I’ve been busy with the chainsaw, weed wacker and mower. Had 150 tons of stone brought in and made the road to the future shop. Our garden is producing and starting to explode after this rain! We continue to develop more land for our growing little homestead. It came time to put up our meat birds after raising them for two months, and nursing one back to health. Ended up with 127 pounds of the best tasting chicken for this year. Our egg laying chickens and heritage blue slate turkeys arrived and are thriving outside now. Josh LaFond’s 31st birthday was celebrated with ribeyes smoked for 4 hours and grilled after swimming and fishing off the boat all day. His present was a silver salmon replica he caught in Alaska which mom helped scale tip!
